Pilinja village in Dakshina Kannada Tiger stories:

When Swami was young there was very thick forest near His house Dambethar. The surrounding area was called as Pilinja. This means the birthplace of Tiger. A Number of Tigers were staying in these villages. They were coming near the houses in the dark nights for catching dog’s, human beings etc. One can see in many houses the Tiger’s nail marks of scratching on the walls of the houses. Now and then they were coming to the cow sheds and take away calves and other cattle’s. The Villagers say a lot of stories about the fights between the people and the Tigers.

An enlightening story of Swami begins & grows from a place called Dambethar in this universe of God with extraordinary Qualities of being Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omnisense, Omni subtle & Omniglorius. Sri Narayan Nayak father of Theertha was a Spiritual oriented person & Smt. Laxmi was a big Devotee of God. Both of them were ardent devotees of the lord and both possessed very attractive personality with the Religious & Spiritual Knowledge. They were fervent Devotees of the Lord Subramanya of Kukke of South Canara District. Father had an ambition to have a son like Lord Subramanya. Smt. Laxmi too was having the same ambition. The couples were not only the Devotee of Lord Subramanya but also too many other God’s like Durga Parmeshwari, Shiva, Vishnu, and Ganapathi etc for the sake of having a son like THEERTHA. Hence their parents owe the credit of THEERTHA to Lord Subramanya.

When Swami was in the womb of His mother, they experienced phenomenal changes in their life as the disagreement which were occurring earlier in between the couple Sri Narayan Nayak and Smt. Laxmi gradually ended. The rules and regulations of the British Government at that time got softened. The number of cattle in Dambethar house went on increasing they had enough supply of food. The crops began to grow healthy. The epidemic diseases reduced in people of the village. The ambience became pleasant and beautiful. At the time of the Birth of Swami there was a highly Devotional space created among the villagers.
